Most 3D printers that are available for purchase are designed for time-consuming plastic extrusion applications and therefore are not suitable for the use in educational environment where groups are large and time is limited. The goal was to develop affordable 3D ceramic printer suitable for educational use in schools and universities.
With ceramic 3D printer it is possible to:
- Build ceramic objects with complex shapes that are not possible to achieve with other techniques
- Mass produce ceramic objects
- Produce ceramic objects from CAD files
- Scan (repair/modify) and reproduce objects (for example a broken vase from archaeological site).
